A TYPICAL SATURDAY MORNING AT GUISBOROUGH RUGRATS
Arrival
Park in the free car park at The Laurence Jackson Sports Village. Parents can bring younger siblings - there's plenty of space for buggies and seating for parents to watch. Our coaches will greet you and help your child settle in.
Warm-Up
Every 2-4yo class starts with the bean game before moving into a second warm up activity. Our older classes begin with a fun warm-up followed by a second game to get the kids moving and laughing. We focus on running, jumping, and coordination exercises disguised as play.
Skill Development
We work on a specific rugby skill each term - passing, catching, tackling technique (non-contact - using inflatables/wedges), or kicking. Activities are age-appropriate and designed to build confidence progressively.
Game Time
Our older classes include a tag rugby activity game at this point where children get to apply what they've learned. For younger kids (2-4), this might be a simple chase game. Older children (4-7) play structured tag rugby with simple rules.
Cool Down
We finish with a gentle cool-down and a team cheer. Coaches give feedback to parents about progress and what to practice at home.
